When I was first contemplating what examples of simulation in education would be I thought of standardized tests. I think of something that happens in education that teachers try to imitate for their students. Testing and particularly standardized tests are a good example because teachers often talk to their students about this and try to create a test and environment beforehand that prepares their students and gives them an experience as similar to the real event as possible.
Hi Ashley:
ReplyDeleteThank you for providing an example of simulation. I think I understand it now and I have to revise my earlier statement where I said I did not have any experience with simulations because as a student in the public school system from grades K - 12, I experienced standardized testing on an annual basis and you are correct, all of my teachers spoke to the us as a class unit about each upcoming standardized examination.
Please see below. I found a website that discusses interactive simulations. I found the explanations on this website very helpful as well.

hey Ashley i also agree with the testing. but do you think that teachers often teach kids to fit the environment they as teachers have a vision of.
ReplyDeleteHi Ashley,
ReplyDeleteI think this is a unique example of a simulation. I never would have thought of it. Things like flight simulations for pilots come to my mind. Thanks for taking a simpler approach. Now you've got me thinking how other simple things might apply. Hmmmm...

I never thought as what teachers do for standardized testing as a way of simulation. Thats a very interesting example of what a simulation can be.
ReplyDeleteHi Ashley,
ReplyDeleteI also agree with you about simulation in education by using testing but I'd like to see more examples.
