Assessment in Serious Educational Game, Simulations and Virtual Worlds, Part 2 by Annetta, L., Kirkley, J., Ketelhut, D., Savvides, P., Lu, L., Dunleavy, M., Jones, G., Lamb, R., Stone, M., Kirkley, S., Johnson-Glenberg, M., Birchfield, D. & Heinecke, W. discusses the change in educational "landscapes". This was a topic at the Society for Information Technology & Teacher Education International Conference (SITE) this year. I have been looking into the research provided for the use of technology in the classroom environment and the implementation of what some see as a "three dimensional virtual learning experience" that many learners are expereincing. This research further investigates a learning experience through the use of an educational game or stimulation through the use of advanced technology. This conference also addresses the issue of assessment of this type of learning. I found the article provided from this conference interesting because it brings up valid issues that I haven't thought about taking into consideration as an educator.

    i agree with you. there are alot of virtual learning tools that are out there that are targetting young children. i think this is a big/ major topic becuase its a good investment. parents want whats best for their kids and will buy almost anything if it benefits their kids the smallest positive way. i think the told of virtual learning if great. u see it used for tvs, video games etc. great way to market things

    I love SITE. Looks like there is lots of great information there. I cannot find the article you reference. Are you a member? And, did you have to pay for the article? If so, how much was it? There is so many articles I would like to read, but thought I would check with you before moving forward on sign-up.

    This is a great source for information. I am not a member but believe I was able to get the article because I was using my district library computer and we have access to these at school.
